About Dr Katy Culliney
Dr Katy Culliney is a dedicated specialist in women’s health, providing expert gynaecological care with compassion, discretion, and professionalism. With a patient-centred approach, Dr Culliney is committed to supporting women through every stage of life — from adolescence to menopause and beyond. Combining clinical expertise with a warm and understanding manner, she ensures each patient feels heard, informed, and confident in their care.
Dr Katy is a gynaecologist & laparoscopic surgeon who has interests in holistic management of pelvic pain, endometriosis, heavy menstrual bleeding, ovarian cysts and pelvic masses.
Experience & Training
Dr Katy completed her medical degree in New Zealand and undertook specialist training across several leading hospitals, including Middlemore, Auckland, North Shore, Waikato, Taranaki, and Tauranga. She further advanced her expertise through a fellowship at Mater Mothers’ Hospital in Brisbane before returning to New Zealand in 2020.

Current Positions
Dr Katy currently holds a public hospital position at Tauranga and Whakatāne Hospitals, where she serves as the Medical Lead for Obstetrics and Gynaecology across both sites. In this role, she is actively involved in clinical leadership, service development, and patient care.
